Obituary of Barbara Bach

Barbara “Barbi” Carson Bach, 82, passed away peacefully on December 30th. The daughter of Harry and Dorothy Carson and sister of the late Michael Carson, Barbi was born in Denver, which remained home even though she spent most of her adult life in Maryland. She went to East High School, and then to Connecticut College before transferring to CU Boulder, where she majored in Russian history and was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi, where she made life-long friends.

Set up on a blind date, she met and married William “Bill” Bach in 1962. Their adventures together began following Billy’s proposal with an engagement ring in an egg roll, and they never looked back. They loved each other fiercely for almost 55 years prior to his passing in 2017.

She was a high school teacher, antique dealer, real estate agent, accountant, and legal assistant - but more importantly, she was a dedicated wife, caring mom, and doting Grammy. As a working mother she always made sure that dinner was on the table so the family could eat and laugh together every evening. She was also a skilled shopper, buying her children and grandchildren clothing and thoughtful gifts throughout the year. A resolute champion of her family, she supported and loved each of us unconditionally.

Barbi is survived by her three children, David (Laura) Bach, Amy (Stephen) Volin, and Lisa (Karen Verpeet) Bach, as well as her grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Daniel, and Jessica Volin, and Aaron and Noah Bach.

Barbi will be missed, as will her matzo ball soup. A celebration of her life will take place later in 2022.
