Obituary of David Bogen

David Richard Bogen left our earthly confines on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Manhasset NY and a resident of Denver CO since 1994, he was a long-time professional in the hospitality industry. He had a passion for officiating youth sports for the last three decades, particularly baseball and basketball. Always with an eye on public service, David was an emergency medical technician for twenty years in his earlier adult years where he grew up in New Jersey. Closest to his heart, he worked a great deal on the Wounded Warrior Umpire Academy while residing in Denver. David earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Stockton State College in Pomona NJ and a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management and Business Management from Metropolitan State College in Denver CO. He also served in the United States Air Force. He is the son of Stefan and Helen Bogen, both of blessed memory. His three brothers are Joel (married to Susan Borgos), Stewart (married to Robin Kaminsky), and Keith. His extraordinary love endures for his nephews Joshua, Justin, Sam, Jeremy and his niece Hannah. He is also survived by his aunt, Judge Beatrice Shainwit and his uncle, Axel Bogen and the great community of friends from the Holmdel High School Class of 1974, the baseball umpiring community and his Hotel Teatro family. There will be a graveside service on Thursday, March 3rd at 9:15AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery (Staging Area C), followed by a memorial service at 11:15AM at Temple Micah, 5209 Montview Blvd. Denver CO 80207. Temple Micah will provide a livestream at https://www.youtube.com/c/micahdenver for the memorial service.
