Obituary of Jay Gegenberg
Jay Gegenberg, a Denver native, enjoyed eighty-six years filled with many gifts. During his nineteen year marriage to Candace Kraft, he welcomed his daughters Leigh and Lindsay into a fun and active California lifestyle. Highlights included many laughter-filled poker parties with friends, along with his successful career as the marketing director for Koret of California.
Upon his return to Denver, he spent twenty-five years as the beloved partner of Roselyn Kark along with her immediate and extended family. He renewed old friendships while using his contagious sense of humor to create many new ones.
Jay was a hard worker who loved to travel. He often collected a variety of “tchotchkes” to hand out later when circumstances inspired. He was known for his spicy dill pickles, and never met a danish roll he didn’t like. Jay loved wine, margaritas, the company of friends and family, and was never seen without a smile. He could make anyone laugh, even in their darkest days, maintaining that sense of humor into his own final hours.
Jay was a kind, generous, and beloved father, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, his son, Scott Goodman, granddaughters Winter and Willow Dieball, companion Roselyn Kark, and family.
