I am so saddened by the passing of my earliest childhood friend, Lennie. Our mothers were close friends and we lived only a few houses from each other. Leonard came from a wonderful family which was clearly reflected in his admirable character and career. My sincere sympathies to his wife Roberta, their children and families, as well as to Len's siblings and families. I feel some comfort with the funeral taking place at their H.E.A. synagogue, the congregation of my youth and teens -- where the warm voice of my late father, Cantor Jacob Lefkowitz resounded for more than fifteen years. My heart will always remember the dedication of the Waldbaum family, and my memories of the Alliance will remain forever.
