I miss you every day Daddy. I miss your wisdom, your humor, your protection, your strength, your voice...and it's difficult to realize now that I wouldn't always have you and Mom. What a beautiful life you provided for your 4 children. A life filled with integrity, love, respect, pride, work ethic,( how to win with hard work and lose with humility and higher aspirations,) and fulfillment of life you taught us to aspire to. Always there for us, never stammered to provide us with whatever we needed, physically, materialistically, emotionally, spiritually, and the list goes on.
During this month of Elul, Mom's Yahrzeit, I remember being in Shul as a very little girl, holding your hand EVERY time, leaning on you trying to stay awake and when I started nodding off, you would wrap your arm around me and say "it's fine, go shluf."
I love you Dad. I hope you hear me.

My grandfather, Wally, was a Denver native with a shining spirit and a heart of gold. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, who was just a young man on shore leave when he met his beautiful late wife, my grandmother Ilene. It was clear from the beginning they were meant for each other, and Ilene boldly proposed to him mere months later. While they were not far apart in age, they were married in secret so Ilene could graduate high school without impediment before beginning their lives together as man and wife. They were inseparable and devoutly in love for the remarkable lifetime that followed, their adoration and devotion to one-another an inspiration to anyone who was privileged to know them (both beloved of their family, friends, and within their community).
Wally was known for his mischievous sense of humor, extraordinary strength of character, and an enduring generosity and kindness that truly set him apart among men. Throughout his life he was extremely hard-working and ran several businesses profitably, but there was no vocation or passion of greater importance to him than the unconditional love he had for his family. It was with proud enthusiasm he supported the award-winning equestrian and rodeo pursuits of his four children, even at one time running a country-western store to advocate their passion. His unwavering presence, encouragement, and the pride he took in all our lives and endeavors continued for the duration of his life. With twelve grandchildren and four young great-grandchildren, he and my grandmother were blessed with a large and loving family. They will both be sorely missed, and remembered with a fondness and reverence that continues to enrich the lives of everyone who knew them. It is an honor to be a part of the beautiful legacy they have lovingly built.
Thank you for everything, Buba and Zada. We will cherish you, always, and the love you gave will live on in the generations to come.
- Ari
