Obituary of Judith Schwartz
It is with great sadness that we inform you that beloved Temple Sinai member
Judith “Judy” Schwartz died on Thursday, March 24.
Zikhronah livrakhah, May she be remembered as a blessing
Judy is survived by her daughter Dana (Brendan Broms) Schwartz and her son Dr. Brian (Michelle) Schwartz; her sister Cathy Hirsh, her brother Kenneth Hirsh; and her grandchildren Macey, Avery, Milo, and Ezra.
Judy was an extraordinary educator. She taught English and was the Speech and Debate coach at East High School for over 30 years. Later she taught at North High School and then Emerson Street. Even after she retired, Judy continued to teach by joining the Peace Corps and then going to Guadalajara, Mexico to teach English.
Judy and the late Mike Schwartz were among the earliest members at Temple Sinai. For over 50 years she has been a cherished friend and joy for our community. To say that she will be missed is an understatement. Judy Schwartz’s legacy will continue to inspire us.
The funeral and interment will be at Mt Nebo on Sunday, March 27 at 2:00pm to be followed by a Memorial tribute and service for Judy at Temple Sinai at 4:00pm on Sunday. Immediately after the Memorial the family will gather in the Temple Sinai Social Hall with friends and family for shiva to share stories and cherished memories.
The interment (2pm) will be broadcast on Feldman’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7CQNliXtxRvoOGVZvmH-kg
The Memorial service (4pm) at Temple Sinai will be livestreamed: https://sinaidenver.org/livestream/
As we express our sympathy to the Schwartz family and to Judy’s many friends and loved ones, we say:
HaMakom yenachem etkhem b’tokh sh’ar aveilei Tzion viYerushalayim
May God comfort you along with all who mourn in Zion and Jerusalem
