Obituary of Albert Greenberg
Albert was born on April 04, 1927, at Pottsville, PA. He served in the Infantry at the end of WWII. He was stationed at Tricesimo, in the north. He studied at Penn State under the G.I. bill where he found his calling in clinical psychology. He did graduate work at a clinic counseling couples. He met his wife Joanne, when he was working as a night attendant in a veteran’s hospital in Washington DC, where she was a student at American University. They came to Denver in 1956 and settled on Lookout Mountain.
He worked at Jefferson County Department of Welfare and at the state of Colorado Department of Rehabilitation as a Vocational Counselor and at the Creation of the Adams County Department of Mental Health. He worked with the American Heart Association and with deaf clients as well as the general client population. He co-founded a program for people transitioning from hospitals and prisons called Community Corporation and with a Native American support group.
The Greenbergs have two sons David and Alan, and their wives Maureen and Pamela.
Albert collected and restored vintage cars and did woodworking. He also made dulcimers.
