Obituary of John Armijo

The Armijo family is sad to announce the passing of Yochanan Armijo, 81. Though he is gone too soon, he will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Leah Wolfe. He was a proud father of sons Bryan and Mike (Melissa) Armijo, grandchildren Gabriel, Ellie, Shelby, and great grandson Matheus. Brother of Manuel Armijo and sisters Darlene Armijo and Diane Moore. He adored his nieces and nephews: Bernadette Wolfe, Christopher (Melissa) Wolfe, Melissa (Jason) Hanson, and Samantha (Jason) Peck; great nephews Joseph and Jacob Peck. Further survived by additional nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

Yochanan Armijo joins his parents Charles and Bertha Armijo, as well as sisters Eleanor Herrera and Barbara Martinez.

 

His life was a living example of serving others. After graduating from Central High School in Pueblo, Colorado, he joined the Army serving as Combat Engineer. He also trained in Chapel Activities. He later served in the Colorado Army National Guard where he retired after an honorable career.

 

Yochanan was a graduate of University of Southern Colorado. He worked at CF&I in Pueblo and Dana Corp.

 

Yochanan was extremely proud of his Jewish heritage. He enjoyed daily his daily studies and teaching the younger family members Hebrew.

 

A private funeral will be held at Ft. Logan Cemetery. A reception open to all family and friends will be held at Feldman Mortuary on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at 1673 York St., Denver. In lieu of flowers,  

the family requests donations be made to a charity in his honor.
