Obituary of Kenneth R. McEntire
Kenneth R. McEntire passed away on January 27, 2023. He was born October 20, 1946, in Tulsa, OK, to Orman Emmett McEntire & Katheryn Semler McEntire.
Ken graduated from Bixby High School and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, where he was in the ROTC. He joined the United States Air Force after college, serving as a Captain and a B-52 navigator in Vietnam.
Later in life, Ken’s relationship with his life partner Rosalyn inspired meaningful understanding and empathy for survivors of the Holocaust. He was of great support to her and a cherished travel companion to various conferences where she spoke as a child survivor.
Ken worked 20 years for the State of Colorado Labor Department, assisting injured veterans to find work, during which time he received recognition for his excellence.
Ken is predeceased by his parents Orman & Katheryn, brother Earle Emmett McEntire, and wife Barbara in 2000. He is survived by his life partner Rosalyn Kirkel, his nephew Charles “Chuck” Earle McEntire & spouse Alice Locke McEntire, his nephew Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne McEntire & spouse Andrea “Andy” Cooper McEntire, and niece Sally Ann McEntire Hawley & spouse Hugh Hawley. Ken is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Service, Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, Fort Logan National Cemetery, 11AM; meet at staging area “A” at 10:45AM. Service will be livestreamed on Feldman Mortuary’s YouTube channel.
