As a relative newcomer to the Denver community, I can only say that Jim Cohen is the embodiment of the word mensch
and that clearly derives from his family legacy. Jim, may you and your family be comforted as you have comforted my family in our times of mourning. And know what a treasure your family has been to the entire Jewish community as well as to Colorado generally.

Shalom Jim and all of the Cohen and Feldman's family,
I am so sorry to hear of the death of Steve Cohen. His storied legacy continues through Jim for Feldman's Mortuary, which is the center for grief and healing for the Jewish and broader community. Feldman's has cared for my Olesh/Karo/Schwartz family for three generations here in Denver. I was and am immensely comforted by their care and compassion. May all that you have and continue to offer so beautifully to the Colorado community in their grief return to you in outpouring circles of sympathy, love and support.

I have warm memories of Steve. Whenever our paths crossed he gave me a hug and a sincere greeting by name. He made every funeral a bit easier to attend because he was there in control and support. And Jim, you have followed boldly and beautifully in his footsteps. May your family hopefully find some strength, comfort, and support from your memories, friends, and the community during this difficult journey of loss.

I've known Steve my entire life. He was very good to my family over the years with friendship and generosity. Like his father, Steve had a great sense of humor. If you were lucky to know Steve well enough - you might have received a side bar conversation with him on a dark day where the two of you could hang back and mumble and joke together. Out of this experience you'd get a rare moment of levity in what otherwise would be a challenging time of saying goodbye to a loved one. He brought light to the dark and levity to the grieved as only one who is touched by grace can. My deepest condolences to his family - and I rest better knowing Steve is making things light and easy for us all when it is our time to come mumble and joke with him again.

Dear Jim & Family,
We are so very sorry to hear about your Dad’s sudden passing. He was a sweet and kind man and was such a Mench! He always treated me with kindness and respect, probably due to the relationship he had with my father. He will always be fondly remembered. May his memory be a blessing!

Dear Jim and Family,
I just wanted to express how sorry I was to learn about the sudden death of your dad. I wish there were these perfect words to say that could magically help ease the pain of such a significant loss, instead I find myself struggling to discover the appropriate sentiments that might help in some small and meaningful way. That said, I will share one of my favourite quotes by Morrie Schwartz (from Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Alboim) "As long as we can love each other and remember the love that we had, we can die without ever really going away. All the love that we shared is still there, all the memories are still there. They remain in the hearts of everyone we have touch and nurtured while we were alive...death ends a life, not a relationship".
I know with all the love and support of good friends and family, you will find your way through this. My thoughts are with you at this time.
Fondly,
Corrie
