Obituary of Theresa Herzberg
Theresa "Terri" Lee Ann Herzberg passed away at her home surrounded by her family on the morning of Feb. 23rd, 2023, at the age of seventy-one. Theresa was born on November 24, 1951, in Minneapolis, MN. As a young girl Terri’s father was in the military. Her family traveled from Minneapolis to Japan, the upper Peninsula of Michigan, and a farm outside of Madison Wisconsin where lasting memories were made gardening and of Sunday afternoon football games with the entire family. The family moved back to Minnesota and settled in Brooklyn Park where she Graduated from Osseo High School on June 4th, 1969. She went on to attend the University of Minnesota where she met Jeffrey Herzberg. Terri was intrigued by Jeff’s focused and serious nature. They were united in marriage on October 9, 1971. Unto this marriage two sons where born. Terri’s love of Judaism led to her many years of volunteer service with the Sisterhood at Mount Zion Temple in St Paul, MN where many lifelong friends were made. Terri, her husband Jeff, and their son Eric moved from Minnesota in 1994 to Littleton, CO where she embraced the western lifestyle with a sign on the front door that said, “Welcome to the Ranch”, and a new love of the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Broncos, while never forgetting her Minnesota Viking heritage.
Terri wore many hats in life and juggled many obligations with a sense of grace and purpose as a mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and loving wife to Jeffrey Herzberg.
She lived with a strong sense of obligation to those she loved, a beautiful optimism, and a clever sense of humor that always fit the moment perfectly. She lived with a giving heart and a deep caring for everyone that crossed her path and she sought to leave no one a stranger.
She is survived by her son Brad (Jennifer) Herzberg of Thief River Falls, MN, her son Eric (Virginia) Herzberg of Littleton, CO, her 5 grandchildren Ian, Ryan, Aidan, Apollo and Collen, mother Jeneane Benedict, brothers Tim (Harriet) Rundquist, Robert (Karlita) Benedict, Gregory (Tish) Benedict, Phillip Benedict, & Jeffery (Lauretta) Benedict, her sister-in-law Janet Herzberg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jeffrey Herzberg, father Robert W. Benedict Jr. and sister Leta Buksa.
