Obituary of Evelyn Lee

Evelyn (Evie) Lee of Wheat Ridge, Colorado joined her parents and brother the late Steve Altman in heaven on March 28, 2023, after a long and brave struggle with diabetes complications. She was born in Germany in a displaced person camp on February 3rd, 1947, daughter to Holocaust survivors Hyman and Mary Altman. She was valedictorian of her high school class and graduated magna cum laude from Columbia College and was a lifelong learner.  Her career was a source of pride and accomplishment as she retired from the IRS as a Director. She was a kind and caring manager that brought up her employees to better their lives and was nominated by her team as “manager of the year” for many years. She was greatly respected and admired by her peers and superiors at work. She was 76 years young and loved spending time with her family. Evie was always concerned about the people she loved in her life and loved playing play dough with her granddaughter and going to lunch with her daughter and daughter-in-law. She was a long-time member of the Hebrew Educational Alliance her Jewish faith and culture brought comfort to her. She was the ultimate dog lover, and all fury friends had a natural draw to her kindness. She leaves behind her daughter, Mindy Lee, her daughter-in-law Britta Anderson and her granddaughter, Eleanor Anderson. Evie is also survived by her son Michael Lee and his wife Sara Lee as well as her brother Isaac Altman, and her niece and nephew.
