Obituary of Edward Harris Steinberg
Edward Harris Steinberg, 86, passed away in Denver, Colorado on April 1, 2023.
Ed was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on June 27, 1936 to Moses and Rose (Tuchmann) Steinberg. He attended Hugh Morson High School in North Carolina prior to spending his Junior and Senior years at Admiral Farragut Academy in Florida. Ed began college at the University of Colorado and graduated from the University of Denver with a focus on Finance. After college he joined the Army Reserves and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. After the reserves, and while interviewing for a position at Lerner Shops in Denver, he met Helene Spalter. They would marry soon after and embark on an amazing 62-year journey.
Ed started his career as a bookkeeper for Myron Saltzman. Later he would join the Trust Department at First National Bank of Denver. He would also work within the Trust departments of various banks while attending banking school programs at SMU and the University of Wisconsin. During these stints, Ed would earn his CPA and ultimately launch his own tax practice which would span over the course of forty years.
Ed was passionate about sports; especially football and played through high school. He was also an original season ticket holder of his beloved Broncos. He loved being active was an avid runner.
Ed was founding member of Temple Sinai.
He is survived by his wife Helene Steinberg, daughters Cindy (Dan) Elliott, Linda Steinberg, his son, Michael Steinberg, grandchildren, Colton (Kelsey) Ford, Sarah Ford, Olivia Steinberg, Elyana Steinberg, Noah Steinberg and great-grandchildren Bryson and Hallie Ford.
