Obituary of Diana Weiner
Diana Elaine (Marderosian) Weiner was born in Medford, Massachusetts on November 20, 1931, to Arthur and Mary Marderosian. She was the elder sister to her brother Harold. Diana had a passion for helping others which led to a career in nursing where she worked at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Through a nursing friend she met her future husband Dr. Norman Weiner, and they were married on January 2, 1955. Throughout their marriage, Norman and Diana enjoyed entertaining, traveled extensively within the pharmacological community, and were loving parents to their five sons.
Diana was an incredibly sharp, witty, intelligent, and caring person. She always put others first and dedicated most of her 91 years to her family. She consistently thought of others and strived to make an impact, even in her last months. She was a loving and dedicated wife to her husband Norman. After getting married and time spent in San Antonio, Texas, England, and Boston, they settled in Denver in 1967 where Norman served as the Chairman of Pharmacology at the University of Colorado. In Denver they raised their five boys and Diana was a founding member and volunteer of the University of Colorado Hospital gift shop for over 30 years. Diana was an avid reader, a great cook, a dedicated caretaker, and an incredible mother and grandmother to her five children and nine grandchildren.
On April 26, 2023, Diana lost her short battle to cancer surrounded by her loved ones. Diana is survived by four of her sons; Steven (Wendy), Jeffrey (Terry), Gareth, and Eric (Valerie), her grandchildren; Sammy (Katie), Annie (Luke), Molly (Stephen), Shaunie (Calvin), Bailey (John), Danny, Rachel (Alec), Isabella, and Jacob, and eight great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Harold (Louise), and numerous nieces and nephews.
