Obituary of Leruth "Ruth" G. Davis

Leruth “Ruth” Gold Davis, 86 passed on April 29, 2023 at her home in Denver. She was an active volunteer in the Denver community, Chair and President of the historic Buckhorn Exchange Restaurant, which, along with her late husband of 48+ years, Roi, and various family members and friends invested in and renovated commercial real estate around the Denver metro area.

Ruth was born in Greeley, Colorado in 1936, the daughter of Abe and Zelda Gold. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. In 1956, she married Roi C. Davis, Jr. of Toledo OH and started a family in Roi’s hometown until their return to Colorado in 1969.

In addition to her active role in the renovation and preservation of the Buckhorn in 1978, Ruth succeeded her husband Roi as President of the restaurant upon his passing in 2005. Ruth was elevated to Chair of the Board of the restaurant in 2021.  Ruth was an avid skier, art and antique lover, and volunteered at the Denver Art Museum as well as Planned Parenthood of Colorado. Accompanied by her husband and their many friends, Ruth travelled extensively around the world and the US including annual trips to accompany Roi in his 15+ years’ running of the NY Marathons and other marathons around the West.

She is survived by her sister, Marcia Gold Naiman, her three sons, Mark, Rob, and Jud and her darling granddaughter, Jordyn, all of whom she loved dearly. While no services are planned, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, the Rocky Mountain MS Center, and the American Cancer Society.
