Obituary of Diana Michele Dascalu-Joffe

Diana Michele Dascalu-Joffe

December 9, 1978 – May 31, 2023. 


Our beloved mother, wife, daughter, friend and passionate environmental attorney and advocate Diana Michele Dascalu-Joffe, 44, of Denver, CO, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Diana was born in Bucharest, Romania to Nicholas and Michele Dascalu on December 9, 1978. She emigrated to the United States at the age of 2 to Queens, NY and moved to East Stroudsburg, PA at the age of 10. She graduated from East Stroudsburg High School in 1996. After high school, she received her bachelor’s degree from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, PA in 2000. She then obtained her law degree and a Masters in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School in South Royalton, VT in 2003. 


Diana is survived by her husband (Brian Joffe), two children (Noah and Emily Joffe), parents (Nicholas and Michele Dascalu), father and mother-in-law (Les and Linda Joffe), brother and sister in law (Matt and Lauren Joffe), two nieces (Olivia and Maya Joffe) and many relatives, friends and colleagues. 


Diana loved living in Colorado and enjoyed spending time in the mountains, exploring beautiful locations across the state, hiking, camping, outdoor concerts and festivals. She truly dedicated her life to the betterment of others through her incredible advocacy and amazing work achievements to improve the environment and tackle climate change. She shared a deep compassion for the welfare of her family, friends, colleagues, or anyone in need. She also had a true love and connection to animals and especially her dogs, Violet and Sunny. She will truly be missed by the many lives she impacted far and wide.


A Celebration of Life will be held at Feldman Mortuary Chapel on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10:00AM. A livestream will be available on the Feldman Mortuary YouTube channel. In lieu of flowers please send donations to charities that address environmental issues, animal welfare or a charity of your choice.
