Words can’t express our sadness. The wound of Mark’s passing has cut too deep in our family and it will never cease to hurt because of the kind of man he was. Mark and his family have become an extended family for us and very significant in our lives. We have shared birthdays, kids sports, car rides, holidays, fireworks, bar mitzvah and many more. We were glad to have joined them in more than just routine and ordinary lives. Their grief is now our grief. The world has lost an incredible man. When Mark talked, we all listened. He was a world full or knowledge and interesting stories, but also Mark was a good listener. He gave his undivided attention and made each in our family feel special. He would incredibly remember little things and ask questions about comments or conversations we had months ago. We can only remember him with his smile. Always respectful and kind. His family was his most priced treasure he had. We could see and feel the pride he felt for his boys and his wife. We would trust him with our boys without hesitation and blindly. He was truly a caring mentor to my eldest and a caring funny one to my youngest. How hard! He made such an impact. The love for God joined our families and even though our points of view are different, we will still be united by God’s love and teachings of caring for one another. God will help us get through this one with sorrow and resignation in our hearts, but Mark’s passing will definitely be one that I will be questioning him a lot. I am still in shock.
