Obituary of Richard Sampson

Richard Sampson passed away peacefully the morning of December 1^st 2023 at age 93.  Richard was born October 4, 1930, in Chicago Illinois to Abe and Adeline Sampson.  He grew up on the south side of Chicago through high school then moved to Boulder to study Business at CU. 

After graduation he moved to Denver where he was set up on a blind date with Carolyn Seff.  After their first date at the Palace Arms restaurant at the Brown Palace Hotel they courted and were married February of 1962. He started his lifelong career as a commercial real estate broker, making sales well into his eighties.

In 1965 he welcomed Amy into the world as his only child and joy of his life.

In sports he always rooted for the home teams in Boulder and Denver, and especially his hometown Chicago Cubs. All who knew Richard will deeply miss his wit and humor.

Survived by his wife, Carolyn Sampson; Daughter Amy (David Cooley) Sampson; He is also the Uncle of Jody, Evan, and Julia Frank; Douglas (Chanon); Eric (Nancy), and Buzz Sampson.

Preceded in death by his brother Ira (Lil) Sampson.  

Graveside service, 12:30pm, Wednesday 12/6, at Emanuel Cemetery (within Fairmount Cemetery).

Celebration of life immediately following at Golden Shanghai restaurant, 1412 South Parker Road, Denver, Colorado.
