I got to know Maggie at Riverpointe senior living. She agreed to sit for a portrait when I was teaching a painting class. She was always matter-of-fact during our conversations, especially about the spiritual life. Rest in peace, Maggie!

I met Maggie when she volunteered with Kiwanis at the Action Center food bank. She was one of our oldest volunteering members, and I admired how she chose to give back in her senior years through serving others. She was a model for me for how to stay young by making the community better.
Maggie was a wonderful person; it was always fascinating and delightful to talk with her. Her recollections were a time capsule, an eyewitness to the past. She once shared a story about hearing news of the loss of Eva Peron, and how it impacted her and those nearby, and it connected me to the moment as if I had been there with her. She had many years of memories to share, from her youth in Argentina to experiences as an immigrant, and of her life in the United States. Talking to her always made me feel more connected to those times.
I am saddened by her loss, and I cherish my memories of our time together. She was a sensitive, thoughtful and caring person, who I will miss very much.

Maggie was my friend. She brought joy and laughter to everyone.
I met her at the Action Center when I started volunteering for the Kiwanis Club of Columbine. I was a non-member.
At the action center, we laughed and bantered a lot while we cleaned shelves and then stocked them with food. She was one of the reasons I joined Columbine.
We also volunteered together at Meals On Wheels.
Delivering food on our MOW route always took longer with Maggie because she always chatted with every client. She cheered up everyone.
I was with her when she got hurt on a MOW delivery. When she fell down and got hurt, she was embarrassed and said “get me to the car and don’t tell anyone.” Luckily, a nurse inside the house saw her fall and made her lay there until the ambulance came. The medics were performing a concussion protocol and Maggie asked why they were doing the same things I had already done. The medics asked me if I was a doctor and Maggie started laughing and said “he’s not a doctor, he is just Abe!”
As the medics were putting her into the ambulance, I told her that I would follow them to the hospital. She got mad at me and told me that I still had 3 more meals that I had to deliver first! Even when she was hurt, she was still focused on helping others.
In the hospital, Maggie told me she was very embarrassed about the fall, because she forgot that there was one more step on the sidewalk. She asked me how we can keep this quiet. I told her that we could tell people that she got hurt hiking in the mountains or riding a dirt bike. She started laughing and said nobody would believe that, but let’s do it anyway.
Later when the Hospital Admin asked her what happened, she said the got hurt hiking up a mountain. She couldn't stop laughing at the Admin's expression!
I will miss Maggie and I will honor her and keep her memory alive by sharing fun stories about her.

Firstly, I'd like to express my condolences to the family. The first time I met Maggie was prior to a school function at Donovan Pavilion in Vail, CO. She came along with Gaby to assist with decorating the pavilion for a school event for our boys, my son & Gaby's son. Immediately, Maggie was vibrant, joyful, helpful & so much fun. I assigned her the task of blowing up helium balloons for this function. In no time, she had my laughing & sharing stories of these two boys. I proceeded to encounter Maggie at other events and always her enjoyed her love of life and smile. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. I know she's at peace and pain-free. Sending my love and sympathies to the family. Keep sharing her stories!

My sister, Kelly, and I, played Yahtzee every Wednesday, with Maggie, my father, Leo (who loved next door to Maggie), and several other residents of RiverPointe. I always looked forward to our two or three games of Yahtzee. Maggie had a wonderful sense of humor. She would say something with a straight face, and I would look at her. She would then say, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding!" She would laugh and laugh! Her laugh was contagious. The twinkle in her eyes, just as wonderful as she was. I will miss you tremendously! You were such a kind, sweet, fun, and caring person. Thank you for being a part of my life. Until we meet again! Love you, Maggie!

I have so many memories of Maggie growing up but the thing that stays with me most is her easy laughter and open smile. I loved hearing her tell stories of their time in Argentina and we had an amazing trip to see her family there. She loved coming to New York for a visit and we always had an adventure or two. You will be missed Maggie but I will always remember your spirit and laughter as Gaby and I continue on this journey called life. Love Linda
