Obituary of Yoni Rasis
Yoni Rasis; Husband of Lydia Miletin Rasis; Father of Dana (Mark) Brittan, and Ron (Chelsea) Rasis; Grandfather of Rena and Saul Brittan and Lev and Ari Rasis.
Yoni Rasis was born in Nazi-occupied Poland on August 20, 1941, to parents, Isaac, and Regina Frisch. Yoni and his mother survived the Holocaust and moved to Israel in 1944. His mother Regina re-married to Levi Rasis who adopted Yoni as his son. Yoni completed his undergraduate degree at the prestigious Technion Israel Institute of Technology before serving in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Air Force Division. He married Lydia Miletin on June 18, 1970 shortly before moving to St. Louis, Missouri where Yoni completed his Doctor of Science at Washington University in Control Systems Science. Yoni spent most of his career working for the then McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing, F-15 Department before transitioning to a full-time faculty member of the Missouri Western State University Engineering Department.
Yoni was most known for his silly personality and youthful antics. He made the best funny faces and his love for you was expressed in his many endless and creative nicknames. He loved his family deeply and devoted himself to the Jewish tradition of L’dor v’dor which literally means from generation to generation. May all of Yoni’s memories be a blessing, to all his family, and to all who knew him.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Mt. Nebo Cemetery on Friday, December 22 at 11:00 AM. Livestream available on Feldman Mortuary's YouTube Channel.
