Obituary of Mike Haley
Michael Coffin Currier Haley, 1939-2024. Born in Albuquerque to Ruth Currier Haley and Jano Haley. Raised in Los Alamos from 1943-1957 during the Manhattan Project. Graduated from St. John’s College, Annapolis, MD, and University of New Mexico School of Law. Served as a naval officer at Barber’s Point, Oahu, HI. He never practiced law, but used it in his career in commercial real estate. He was a well-respected senior instructor for the Certified Commercial Investment Division (CCIM) of the National Association of Realtors and attained a master’s Certificate in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP).
He flew airplanes and helicopters, sailed bare boat charters, wrote three novels, made silver and turquoise jewelry, and painted stunning southwest landscapes. He connected with people on a deep spiritual level and was truly a man of many talents.
He married Linda Lee Levitt on Feb. 17, 1963, and they shared their magical lives for 62 years, living in Honolulu, Albuquerque, and a home nestled in the Ponderosa pines in Parker, CO. He is survived by his wife Linda, sister-in-law Brenda Sheldon, nephews Dan Sheldon and David Sheldon, niece Audrey Chapel, and their families. His parents and sister, Jana Haley, predeceased him.
