Obituary of Vicki Lynn Bagley

Vicki Lynn Bagley (Ladmer), a beloved resident of Palm Beach, Florida, Chautauqua, NY, Washington, DC, and Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 16, 2024, surrounded by her children.

Born on February 5, 1943, in Denver, Colorado, Vicki graduated from East High School in 1960 at the age of 16, having skipped two grade levels. She furthered her education at UCLA and began working with security clearance at the Rand Corporation in Los Angeles. It was in Los Angeles where she met and fell in love with Smith Walker Bagley from Greenwich, Connecticut, a member of the Reynolds tobacco family. They married in 1966 and settled in Winston-Salem, NC, where they had three children. The couple were early supporters of Jimmy Carter's presidential campaign. They moved to Washington, DC in 1976 to support the campaign, hosting numerous fundraisers and events.

Vicki Bagley had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a love for real estate. In the late 70s, Vicki founded Vicki Bagley Realty, which became a great success. However, she took the most pride in mentoring a team of capable women who found success as agents and real estate investors. In 1991, Vicki delved into publishing, launching a society magazine focused on philanthropic activities in the nation’s capital. After her divorce from Smith in 1983, Vicki relocated to Manhattan for several years before making Palm Beach, Florida her permanent residence. During her time in New York, she acquired Celebrity Service International, a prominent media information business serving industry leaders, agents, managers, and public relations executives across various sectors from entertainment to fashion to sports.

Known for her love of learning, attending lectures, and making investments, Vicki found true happiness in reading. She always said she was never bored since she always had a book to keep her entertained. In the latter part of her life, she enjoyed traveling the world with her son and investing in real estate. She was a fantastic cook, had a flair for interior design, and could decorate and flip properties sight unseen.

Vicki was preceded in death by her sister Teri Levine of Cleveland, Ohio, and her parents Betty and Jack Ladmer of Denver, Colorado. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Bagley (Soroush Shehabi) of Washington, DC, and Nicole Bagley (Fred Krumbhaar) of Denver, Colorado, and her son Brett Bagley of Denver, as well as her three grandchildren Dylan Walker, Ella Walker, and Kamran Shehabi-Bagley. Additional survivors include her niece Marne Levine (Phil Deutch) and children Jackson and Zander Deutch of Atherton, California, niece Lindsey Levine of New York, NY, and brother-in-law Dr. Mark Levine of Cleveland, Ohio, and Palm Beach, Florida.
