Obituary of Evelyn J. Wiescamp
Evelyn J. Mozer Wiescamp, the daughter of Dr. Borah and Sarah Mozer, was born June 6, 1941 in Denver, Colorado and died September 3, 2024. She is survived by her husband Gail L. Wiescamp, Denver, CO; brother Dr. Erwin (Helen Ruth) Mozer, Centennial, CO; niece Dr. Erika (Jon Glick) Mozer, Menlo Park, CA, her nephew Dr. Tony (Dr. Stevie Carraro) Mozer; great nephew Max Mozer, Kentucky.
Evelyn attended the University of Colorado and received her B.A. in June, 1965. After receiving her teaching certificate, she began her teaching career teaching language arts at Longmont High School, where she taught for several years. She decided to try something different, so she taught E.S.L. (English as a Second Language). She enjoyed teaching those students that were from many different countries. She taught them to save their books, and to treat them kindly.
Evelyn was an avid reader and always had a book with her at all times. She loved reading historical fiction novels, newspapers, magazines, anything in print to grab her attention! Her sister, Dr. Elaine Kauvar, had Evelyn proofread manuscripts of two books that Elaine had written and were ready to be sent to the publisher. Evelyn had such a keen eye for spotting grammatical errors and misspelled words.
Evelyn never met a stranger; she loved meeting new people, conversing with them, and making new friends.
A private funeral service was held.
Donations in her name can be made to the Denver Hospice.
