Obituary of Nanette Simon Timbel
Nanette (Nan) Simon Timbel of Denver, Colorado, age 97, passed away on Thursday September 5th in Denver, Colorado.
Nan was born in Boulder, Colorado to Leo and Henrietta Simon on April 15, 1927. She traveled extensively with her parents in her youth. A graduate of Boulder High, she met Ed Timbel in Denver, Colorado. Nan and her husband owned two Boulder jewelry stores, Holiday Jewelers and Holiday on the Hill. She enjoyed being a devoted Denver Broncos fan, skiing, tennis and traveling, especially with the Ports of Call travel club. Nan volunteered at Rose Medical Center and she played bridge several times a week until this summer. Nan served on the Board of Directors of Candlewyck Condominiums for about 20 years and for many of those years as the President of the Board.
Nan is survived by her son, Ned R. Timbel (Margot), and her four grandchildren Jack Bethel (Cassie Rae), Alex Bethel Negrón (Cynthia Bethel Negrón), Carter Timbel and Mackenzie Timbel and great grandchild Julia Goldberg Negrón. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Timbel Bethel.
A Memorial Reception will be held in the Skyline Room on the 18th floor at Brookdale Parkplace (111 Emerson St. Denver, CO 80218) on Tuesday 9/17 from 3:00pm – 4:30pm.
