Obituary of Michael Viders
Michael Viders was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in the state. He went to Cherry Creek High School and moved to San Diego for college where he studied business. He moved back to Colorado to be close to his family and for the dry air which helped his asthma and the mountains which helped his heart.
Michael was an independent, humble, nerdy man. When he was young he would go to a diner every Friday night for a milkshake and then go see the newest science fiction movie at the theater.
Michael met his beloved wife Toni in the 90s. Their love grew fast like a fiery storm and they were married within months. His wife knew she would marry him the day he held her purse for her when she went to the bathroom and looked into her eyes later that evening and told her he knew she was his soulmate. Their marriage was described by his wife as “true bliss.” They had a daughter named Sarah who became Michael’s best friend from the moment she could talk and walk.
Michael worked as a driver for many years, knew the Colorado streets and backroads like the back of his hand. He could drive in snowstorms and through mountains. He enjoyed driving and listening to his audiobooks as he drove to new destinations with his clients. He would take any opportunity to call his wife and daughter to say hello and that he was thinking of them each time he stepped out of the house for work.
Michael had lots of interests like history and science fiction. He enjoyed Ancient Aliens, every Star Trek show ever made, and pretty much everything his daughter wanted to watch with him. Michael knew how to show his love best through quality time. Him and his daughter would watch hours of television together, go on long walks and hikes, and stuff burgers into their mouths any chance they got together.
Michael loved to fly kites and build spaceships out of legos. He loved to read books on any topic imaginable and always dreamed that he could be a mental health specialist. But in a way he was one for his family. He healed his daughter and wife’s anxieties and troubles. He listened so deeply and provided all the support he could at all times. He would sit next to his daughter and watch SpongeBob and rub her back when she couldn’t sleep from anxiety. He rubbed his wife’s feet every night of their 25 years of marriage.
He and his daughter went on many adventures together. They hiked at their favorite hiking trails near their home and often saw deer and beautiful sunsets. They went on a roadtrip in Utah where they explored its national parks and pizza joints. They skiied together in Taos with Doug, Sarah’s boyfriend.
Michael accomplished so many things and more during his short time on Earth. He helped his wife fight a difficult car accident and helped his daughter get through high school, college, and law school. He took care of his parents without question. He weeded their bushes, took out their trash, and made everyone proud to be related to such a wonderful man. Michael did so much good during his time on this planet that his angel soul is sent back to Heaven to rest. He inspired so many to love and be the best version of themself. He was an artist, a dreamer, and a writer. And a night owl. And a Mexican food lover, specifically enchiladas with extra sauce.
Burial will take place at Mount Nebo Cemetery on Sunday September 22nd at 10am where he will be buried near his mother-in-law. His funeral will be attended by his loving wife, daughter, soon to be son-in-law, friends, brother, nieces, cousins, amongst other family members. The service will be live streamed via Feldman Mortuary's YouTube channel.
In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of his family.
May his memory be for a blessing.
