Obituary of Margaret Lorraine Dupper
Margaret Lorraine Dupper passed away at the age of 93 in Littleton, Colorado. Originally from Grant, NE, Lorraine moved to Colorado and attended Campion Academy. She went on to become an LPN and served the incarcerated population. Lorraine survived a marriage to Cavlin C. Dupper, and moved to Oregon where she fell in love with the Oregon coast. She shared that with me, her oldest grandchild, along with donuts and coffee for breakfast, investigating the Oregon tide pools at low tide at 2am, Tillamok cheese curds, Blueberry Hill ice cream, and Cranberry Sweets. While her relationship with her family was complicated, she had deep love for them all. I regret that her other grandchildren will never know the best of her. Lorraine was adventurous, traveling to Europe several times with her daughters and eventually teaching English in Taiwan in her seventies, where I joined her for two memorable weeks during my senior year of high school to celebrate the Chinese New Year. She donated money to veterans, to the church, and financially assisted family members in need. Lorraine was not perfect; but she was loved, and she will be missed. Lorraine is survived by her three children: Diane (Dupper) Soderstrom; Larry Dupper; and LeAnne (Dupper) Holms; and by her grandchildren, Nicole Porter, Kalin Dupper, Jeremy Dupper, Michelle Dupper, Corina (Dupper) Handal , Steven Holms, Bethany Holms, Ben Holms, and multiple great-grandchildren.
