James (Jimmy) Altenberg, Oakland, CA, passed away after a battle with cancer on Oct. 31, 2024. Son of the late Michael and Roslyn Altenberg. Husband of Carole Lesnick, Oakland. Beloved brother of Richard (Mary) Altenberg (Albuquerque), Barbara (Steven) McDonald, and Judy Altenberg (Bruce Plotkin), all of Denver. Beloved uncle and cousin of many. Stepson of Libby Bortz (Denver). Memorial to be held in Oakland; memorial / shiva in Denver at a later date. The family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
