Obituary of Marilyn Kaitz Wolfson
What an extraordinary, long life Marilyn Kaitz Wolfson lived! Marilyn was born Nov. 20th, 1930, in Denver and passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on December 28, 2024, at home. Marilyn was the daughter of Max and Ida (Boch) Kaitz, and sister to Joe Elliot Kaitz. Marilyn graduated from East High School, working for the National Jewish Hospital before moving to Los Angeles for fun and adventure. Marilyn was a class act through and through with phenomenal designer taste in clothes, home decor and works of art (which she collected with abandon)!
When her dear mother Ida needed care, Marilyn moved back to Denver to be with her. After her brother’s tragic death in a plane crash, Marilyn provided for the rest of her life a loving link for Jerry, Tammy, Sheri, and Lori to their father.
Professionally, Marilyn worked as a secretary for law firms and dabbled as a stockbroker. Marilyn met the love of her life, Arthur Wolfson, at a club in Denver. They loved their travels abroad, the many trips to the mountains, time with friends, and their fur baby Lalique.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Arthur Wolfson of 47 years, sister-in-law Barbara Suson, nephew Jerry Kaitz, niece Tammy Kaitz (m. Steve Crane), niece Lori Contreras (m. Joe Contreras), great nieces/nephew Joe and Taylor Kaitz, Dylan, Seth, Shannon Crane, Dustin Contreras, Rachel and Omar Perez, and 3 great-great-nephew/nieces! She is preceded in death by her brother Joe Elliot Kaitz and niece Sheri Kaitz.
Services will be held at Temple Sinai on Tuesday, Dec 31st at 10:00am; Interment Rose Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
