Obituary of Jerry Roger Schreiber
Jerry Roger Schreiber
November 7, 1934 – January 18, 2025
Jerry Roger Schreiber, 90, of Carrboro, NC, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jerry spent much of his life in Denver, Colorado, where he built a legacy of hard work, family, and a deep love for the outdoors.
A proud graduate of North High School and the University of Colorado, as a young man Jerry served his country in the Marine Corps, an experience that shaped his values and led to his wish to be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
In 1956, Jerry married Carol Ann Goldman, and together they raised six children: Steven (Trish), Shelley, Michael (Kelly Pierson), Terri, Eric, and Julie. Jerry was grandfather to Jessie Parisi (Steven), Adam Schreiber, Peter Schreiber, and Salem Hansen. His family continues to honor his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to hard work.
Jerry’s career was marked by innovation and dedication. He worked as a stock broker and in commercial real estate before pursuing his dream of founding Brookside Flies, a fly-tying company based in Denver with a team in Thailand. His passion for fishing, along with his love of ballroom dancing, gymnastics, golf and softball, connected him to friends and the community, keeping him active and engaged throughout his life.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Valerie; his children, grandchildren, step-children (Phillip, Russell, and Lawrence), and nine step-grandchildren; and his sisters, Diane Lipskind and Marian Shemberg.
Chapel service will be on Tuesday, January 28th at 11:30am at Feldman Mortuary. Graveside to follow at 1:30pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, followed by Shiva at Terri Schreiber’s home. Service will be live streamed by Feldman Mortuary's YouTube channel. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Legion Chapel Hill Post No. 6 in his memory.
Jerry’s charm, humor, and love for the outdoors left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
