Obituary of Bonnie Handler
Bonnie Rae (Sunshine) Handler was born September 5, 1946, in Denver, CO and passed away on August 29, 2020. Bonnie was raised in Denver CO and attended George Washington High School ’64. She wed Alan Jay Handler on December 17, 1966. Shortly after Stephie and Kenny were born, they moved to the Los Angeles area and then migrated to Fountain Valley, CA where they lived for over 25 years. They then moved to Laguna Niguel, CA. In the mid ‘90s Bonnie and Alan moved to Henderson, Nevada, where they created lifelong friendships that became family. In July of 2018 Bonnie and Alan moved back to Denver, CO. Bonnie had an eclectic career, from being a controller and financial officer to various corporations, she and Alan owned the House of Terry which had 4 locations in Southern California in the mid-70s to the mid-80s. Most importantly, she was a mother, a homemaker, a friend, a confidant, a sister, an Aunt, a cousin, a daughter and so much more to so many people. Bonnie fought a long-term battle with Lewey Body Dementia. Bonnie is survived by her husband Alan, daughter Stephanie and her husband Mark and their kids Mason and Hannah and her son Ken and his wife Carrie and their kids Grace, Mary and Holly. Her sisters Merrily and her husband Steve Reflow, Gayle and her husband David Weinstein, and Barbara Dunevitz as well as nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A message to the Community:
The antidote to loss is connection. Unfortunately, during this pandemic, connection is limited and is leaving grieving families isolated in the midst of mourning.
