I started working for Lee as a baby attorney, and he was the best mentor anyone could have asked for. While he focused on legal issues, he always sought the most practical solutions. It was an honor to have worked with Lee for so many years and to have learned so many things about the practice of law. He upheld the highest ethical and moral standards. Lee's family was his top priority and he was very proud of all of them. Lee seemed to perfectly balance a busy and thriving law practice with his family life. Cindy, we are so sorry for your loss.

I first met Lee in 1983, when we were baby lawyers. Since I was a chapter 7 trustee, we were always in an adversarial position because Lee represented debtors. However, Lee was never your adversary; he was the consummate professional, brilliant, kind, responsive and fair. We problem solved many cases together over the years.
So when I took the bench five years ago, I knew I could always trust Lee and his firm to provide excellent legal work and be fair in all aspects of the case. I never saw him engage in discovery disputes or threaten to sanction other lawyers.
The Colorado bankruptcy bar and bench will miss Lee. I wish his family love and hope in this time.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of Lee’s passing. He and I sat for the bar exam together almost 40 years ago, and stayed professionally connected ever since. He was a true professional. I always enjoyed working with Lee, whether it was on the same side of a case, or if we were adversaries (but very seldom adversarial). If either of us had a particularly difficult legal issue, neither would hesitate to pick-up the phone and call the other to discuss the matter. I will truly miss him, and send my most heartfelt condolences to the family, whom I know he loved dearly. shelo ted’u od tza’ar.

Cindy: I'm so sorry. I talked to Lee frequently, he would counsel me so that I could counsel my staff. He never sent a bill in 30 years and he honored me with his referrals just like I did. Never saw him rattled or lacking in confidence. And every referral sent a thank you. Its been so nice to have Lee to refer indigent clients. He always helped them as much as he could. Like so many, I will miss Lee's smile and the sparkle in his eyes. I'm so sorry, Steven
