I first met Eileen when I visited her folk art store in Cherry Creek many years ago. We found an immediate connection through our mutual love of folk art, books, & travel & remained friends, even visiting Cuba together in 2010. She was a very special person - kind, thoughtful, & compassionate - & a wonderful traveling companion. The world needs more people like her & I will miss her. My sympathy to Lisa & the rest of her family - I know she loved all of you.

I knew Eileen first as a client, and then as a friend. We shared so many interests, including art, travel, jewelry, genealogy, food, and family. We used to laugh about all the people in Denver that we knew in common. She was a feisty, classy, funny lady, and she will be missed by many people. My thoughts are with her family at this time. May her memory be a blessing.

Eileen was my friend. She came to visit the salon every Friday without fail and we looked forward to seeing her every week. I had the pleasure of driving her home from her visit and we would laugh and chat about our weekend plans! She loved her family so dearly and always, always asked about my family too. Eileen was the sweetest kindest woman, I will miss her so much. My deepest condolences to the family. Love, your friend Micella

Lisa and Les -- I was so sad when Greg emailed me that your mom had passed away.
No matter how old our mothers are -- or we are! -- their passing can seem unreal. As with my mom, I always thought your mom would be there -- forever; she was just always there, and in a way, still is and will always be.
She inspired me to want to have a store so I could travel the world to share beautiful things with people. The store never came to pass, but the travel, and the love of precious "finds" did, and for that I am grateful. I loved the summer days she let me "work for her" in the store -- when I was probably more a hindrance than a help! I looked up to her when she went to work at Pismo -- a professional woman with the soul of an artist! I loved that she looked out for Tuffy -- insisting that my dad put in a fence to stop our crazy-haired ball of joy from sleeping in the middle of Dartmouth. I loved knowing that her door was always open to me. I thank her for these gifts.
Our families are getting smaller and smaller, but I'm glad you have each other, and am sending you each a big hug of loving-kindness and support.

Eileen was a selfless, true and devoted friend that never wavered. She was humble and kind, generous and loving. She embraced her family and everyone she knew and loved as she celebrated and honored the moments in their lives, and she always knew the right things to say and do. We spoke almost every day for many years. I had to call after her daily routine of watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and time it perfectly. We laughed every time together as she told me her joke-a-day that her family made sure she always had. It was a team effort (thank you Lisa and Les for these jokes, but some needed explaining… and I was always afraid to ask...which makes me smile as I write this). She will be missed more than words can describe. My heart and sympathy go out to her family and friends as I share in this incredible loss, and I pray that her journey after this life is as special and joyous as she was.

Thank you, Robert! A lovely tribute. I'm glad you mentioned her joke-a-day. It started with the pandemic and continued until a few days before her passing. It epitomized Eileen - bringing joy every day to her friends. Maggie Segal, Eileen's daughter-in-law.

The epitome of grace, style and warmth. To be fortunate enough to know Eileen was fortune enough. Always a lady through and through. With love and condolences to the family.
