Obituary of Ruth Rich
Ruth Rich, a longtime California resident, was born in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from North High School in 1946, and continued her undergraduate studies at University of Northern Colorado where she is an honored Alumnus. She taught at Smiley Junior High while she pursued her Masters degree studies at the University of Denver. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she taught at Hollywood High School and completed her PhD at UCLA. She also taught at Marymount College and Loyola College in LA until she went into administration at Los Angeles City Schools as the health research consultant.
Along with successful grant writing for the system, she wrote and assimilated The DARE program nationally and internationally in cooperation with Darryl Gates, LA Police Chief and LA City Schools. Ruth was the fourth oldest born to Charles and Rebecca Rich of Denver and was a devoted daughter and sister to her brother and sisters, Milton Rich, Albert Rich, Gerald Rich, Eileen Goldstein, Shirley Barton, Leonard Rich, Alice Bernstein, Robert Rich, Kenneth Rich and Sheila Dinardo.
She is succeeded by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews, most of whom are Denver residents.
Funeral services at Feldman Chapel on December 21, 2023 at 11:30am, interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be live streamed via Feldman Mortuary's YouTube channel.
Shiva to be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the home of Bill and Terri Gregg, 8901 Sassafras Ct., Parker,CO 80134
