Obituary of Gregg Pooley

Gregg Pooley, 68, passed away Sunday February 11, 2024 peacefully at UC Health hospital in Highlands Ranch, from complications from Alzheimer's and other health issues. He was in the company of his family, brother and sister-in-law.

Gregg had a love of theater and camping.  There wasn’t a theater or show he didn’t enjoy or support if he knew about it, and he most likely did.  He also enjoyed camping with his travel trailer until recently. He also enjoyed movies and old TV shows.

He was an eagle scout and was chosen as one of a select group of eagle scouts for an exchange with scouts of Japan in his younger days.

He was an active member of both the Summit County and Denver County real estate community until his recent retirement.  He also was active in the HOA where he resided the last few years.

After a year of college, Gregg decided to try other things. He first went into business with his dad in the western wear business.  After a few years with his dad, Gregg moved to Rapid City to work with Rapid City Clothing; from there he went to the corporate offices of H Bar C western wear, in California.  Once he decided to leave the western wear business, Gregg got into real estate.  He loved the business and was involved in many aspects of it – from buying and selling properties, to taking and giving seminars, to being a managing broker to selling mortgages.  He was known by all as a friendly, funny, quirky guy.  He had a way of doing his own thing. He was well loved and will be missed by his family and many friends and colleagues.

He is survived by his brothers Doug  (Karen) and Jeff Pooley (Reita) his nephew Sean Pooley (Andrea), his niece Marisa Pooley and his nephew Trevor (Kelly) Pooley and Tara Wentz (Scott) and grand nieces and nephews Lauren, Cameron and Tyler.
