Dear Zall family,
I met Jon in my early employment at Van Schaack & C0., he was the "The Lawyer", I was the Lender! I had just graduated DU, and was sent to the meet him, as He was the "Guru" at Atler,Zall & Halligman. We became friends, and my parents took Jon to see a few concerts in Boston, still have the Celtic's jacket he got me for my b-day circa,1980. He was a great friend, and always had wise words, and a silly sense of humor. I'm sure he will be missed.
Best regards,
MFR

Jon was my first attorney in Denver and helped me launch my real estate career in 1992. He was a true friend, leader, and mentor. He took me under his wing, and we developed a close relationship, despite our age gap. He made it easy and fun!
He will be missed and Chally and I send our sincere condolences to Barbara and family. Rick Wiener

Jon was a great guy and friend. He was our catcher at east high and really loved baseball and especially his Rockies. On one occasion I sold some real estate using Jon for contract. He did a great job and his inclusion of items in that contract really made the sale a great benefit to me.

Jon became a good friend, after working with him in the role of expert engineer witness, several times on cases involving construction issues. Jon was exceptionally sharp, and had a unique sense of humor. I know Jon will be missed, his extended family is well connected. A good man !

Even though I did not get to see enough of Jon through the years, we both felt a close friendship. I am saddened by his passing, along with that of another close friend to Jon and myself who passed away not long ago-Steve Cohen. Jon, Steve and I spent much time together, not only from kindergarten to 12th grade, but also at religious school where we could always get a ride home with Steve's father, whose business (the family business) was nearby. Jon and I recalled those days many times. But, more importantly, I spent hours in Jon's basement in his wonderful home on Bellaire St. (I remember the room) across from Cranmer's park. Through the years, there was always a closeness when we spoke on the phone—which was much more common than in person time together. I did have the pleasure of going to a few baseball games with him years ago; that was an experience as he was so involved in every detail of each game—and took time to explain to me the intricacies of a game he loved.
I knew and was fond of his older brother, Ron. Both Jon and his brother had special senses of humor-never to be forgotten.
I send my condolence to the entire family. Jon was a unique and special friend.

Being from Tennessee, i did not know Jon before we all got to Tulane , but his leadership was quickly noted and there was no doubt he was our “leader” when we, as freshmen, needed a leader such as Jon. I admired him and especially for having such a wonderful disposition. Even though he wasn’t at Tulane very long , I considered him a true friend and always enjoyed our correspondence. I will miss Jon but will not forget him.

Jon was my legal mentor, baseball buddy and best friend - I first met Jon as a baby attorney right out of law school in 1980 - his thorough professionalism shaped my early legal career - we started as partner/associate and developed a friendship that lasted 44 years- his fierce love and loyalty to family and close friends was the hallmark of his life - filled out by his abiding love of all things baseball - yes, even the Rockies, however execrable they were and are. We shared many baseball trips to the west coast together, shared Rox season tix and Jon tolerated , barely , my love of the Dodgers. Our family became his and vice versa and we shared many Christmas celebrations, holidays, birthdays , wedding celebrations and trips together - including our rental beach house in NC , spring training in AZ and Christmas time in NYC. Jon had an abiding respect for our military and we went to several Fleet Weeks in SD and I dragged him to the SD ZOO and Sea World with my vet doc sister - we grew older together but when we traveled and laughed , we grew younger . Jon and his family will be forever in my heart . Todd McNamara
