Obituary of Jon Martin Zall

Jon M. Zall, born in January 1940 in Denver, CO, passed away on June 28th, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and passion. An esteemed attorney specializing in real estate, Jon was known for his expertise and commitment to his profession.

From a young age, Jon had a profound love for baseball, a passion that endured throughout his life. Despite a devastating head injury from a wayward ball in his pre-teen years, he played as a catcher through high school, showcasing his resilience and determination.

Jon attended Tulane University, where he was President of his ZBT Pledge Class.  He graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver in 1963, embarking on a successful career that spanned several decades. His professional achievements were paralleled by his personal dedication to his family.

He married the love of his life, Barbara [nee Pitler], and together they would have celebrated their 59th anniversary this summer. Jon was a devoted father to Edie (Mark Jansen) and Brian, and a loving grandfather to Averi, Kellen, and Keaton (Jansen).

Jon’s love for baseball extended beyond his playing years; he was a lifelong fan of the Cardinals and proudly became one of the first season ticket holders for the Rockies when the team was established. His enthusiasm for the sport was a testament to his enduring spirit and zest for life.
